Calming Paint Colors for Your Whole House

Fresh paint can be a game changer! Evidence #1 below. Our dining room was a dark red when we moved in. Just changing the paint color made the interior feel cleaner and more spacious!

But let's be real, most of us don't have time to try 50 paint swatches on the wall in order to choose the "perfect" color. When we bought our house, I had about 2 weeks to paint all of the walls before we moved our furniture in! So no time for waffling on colors! What did I do? I reached out to the people on Instagram who posted lovely pictures of their homes, and I asked them what paint colors they used! lol! Everyone was so helpful!

People were so gracious to share their knowledge with me, so today I'm passing on some of these tried-and-true paint color recommendations to you!

Sea Salt

KITCHEN & NURSERY:
Walls: Sherwin Williams - Sea Salt SW6204
^ Great color because it is like a chameleon. It has green, grey, and blue in it, so it goes with everything. A soft hint of color while still being almost a neutral.
Trim: Extra White
**See nursery pics in previous post.

Comfort Gray

MASTER BEDROOM:
Walls: Sherwin Williams - Comfort Gray SW6205
^ We get so many compliments on this color. It is very cozy and soothing. This is actually the darker shade of the color found in the kitchen and nursery.
Trim: Extra White

Alabaster

Fleeting Green

BATHROOM:
Walls: Sherwin Williams - Alabaster SW7008
^ Nice warm white. Not sterile!
Trim: Sherwin Williams - Fleeting Green SW6455
^ Mint green without being too bold. Very calm splash of color.
**See pics of the bathroom on our previous post.

Languid Blue

HALLWAY:
Walls: Sherwin Williams - Languid Blue SW6226
^ Very comforting blue. Makes it feel very coastal.
Trim: Extra White
**See photo at the bottom of this post.

Crushed Ice

LIVING ROOM and DINING ROOM:
Walls: Sherwin Williams - Crushed Ice SW7647
^ LOVE this color! Very light and airy! Updates any room! The softest gray.
Trim: Extra White

TIP: Create a spreadsheet of your paint colors, paint brands, and paint finishes. This will be very helpful if you need to touch up paint or if you sell the house. You think you'll remember all of the colors, but eventually it will slip from your memory! (Trust me!)

Hopefully some of these recommendatiosn will prove helpful!  Let me know if you have any questions on them!

Have a great day,
Emily
