Create Your Own Charming Front Door: The Christmas Door
Classic, polished and charming for the holidays!
At Texture Design Co, we’re all about front doors and what makes them undeniably charming.
With November here, the air is crisp… well, maybe not quite yet in Charleston. We’ve just cleared away the last of our drooping pumpkins and turn our focus to holiday decor! Let’s recreate another Charming Front Door!
If you haven’t strolled through Charleston’s South of Broad during the holidays, add it to your list! Picture elegant garlands of magnolia leaves, fresh greenery as far as the eye can see, and twinkling lights illuminating the limbs of ancient live oaks. Visiting these beautiful front doors has become one of my favorite holiday traditions!
For December’s featured Charming Door, we chose one of Charleston’s most iconic — the Pink Door. This door embodies Charleston design—classic yet colorful, with nods to the past and a touch of whimsy. Imagine the monogrammed pillows and towels likely inside! How could you not be inspired by this polished and charming entrance?
The design starts with color. The cheerful pink against crisp white feels like Charleston’s Barbie Dream House! Pink Mimosa and Charleston White, from the Charleston Historic Colors Collection by Sherwin Williams, are close matches.
The Grecian urn planters with boxwood topiaries bridge elegance and playfulness, framing the door beautifully. A classic black lantern, brass hardware, and a mail slot complete the look. We’ve envisioned a scalloped door mat as the ideal finishing touch! Add a large cedar wreath with a red bow (a perfect pop of color against the pink door), and you have an elegant, understated holiday door that’s full of charm.
Below, you’ll find links and color codes to recreate our December front door. Which Charming Front Door should we recreate next?
