Introducing the branding for Active Aging Solutions

Last week on the blog, I presented 4 logo options for Active Aging Solutions. Below you can see the logo that was selected. Today I get to show you the entire branding package!

When Meredith Baird first approached me about needing a logo for her new company, she shared with me the meaning behind the name, Active Aging Solutions:

"The name represents the importance of physical activity throughout the lifespan built upon a wellness model of creating unity within the seven dimensions of wellness: physical, social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, occupational, and environmental.  The business is to encourage aging actively by adopting or maintaining a healthy lifestyle in multiple dimensions."

Upfront, we established that our goal was to create a logo that was:

  • Bright & Cheerful
  • Soothing
  • Classy
  • Embracing & Positive
  • Age Appropriate

After exploring several options, we arrived at the final logo. It is bright and cheery, but still very soothing. The colors, the movement of the body, the heart, and the fonts all work together to make it upbeat and positive. The angles of the arms and legs next to the script font give a feeling of motion. It is safe to say, we were very excited about the outcome!

Below is the mood board that guided the two of us. By adding in the logo to the board, we could see if the logo matched the feeling, mood, and imagery we were aiming for. Success! (Next month, I'll do a blog post on mood boards and why I think they are so helpful for client projects!)

Here is more of the branding! I love the color scheme and the different uses of the body icon.

The images above show some different patterns she can use with the logo. I enjoy adding these in with the branding package because they can be incorporated creatively on all of her future collateral material--including mail outs, the website, brochures, and even thank you cards.

Thanks for following! Have a great day, and feel free to email me if you are in need of a logo or branding ideas for your business! You can also view our logo packages in the Etsy Shop.

A New Branding Package: Salt & Light Photography

Last week I shared the process work behind the new logo for Katie Werner's company, Salt & Light Photography. This week, I am excited to share with you the final product! Check out her branding package below:

Above is an example of one of the patterns and alternate logos paired together. Top right is the mood board that helped direct the look, feel, and color of the brand. Working on a mood board with a client is so helpful because it makes sure we are on the same page! (and it gets everyone excited about starting!)

A little shout out for Katie...she takes the sweetest photos! Follow her on Instagram and see what I'm talking about! Currently, we are creating a Square Space site for Salt & Light Photography that will coordinate with the new branding! Can't wait to share this portion of the project with you in the next few weeks!

Thanks for reading and following! Let me know if you have any questions on the logo design or branding process!

Process Work Behind the Logo: Salt & Light Photography

The first thing that stood out when I meet Katie Werner, the photographer behind Salt & Light Photography, was her genuine and bubbly personality! When she asked me to design a logo for her budding photography business, I was excited to create a logo that personified her lovely personality! I asked her what adjectives best describe the future logo of Salt & Light Photography, and Katie replied "clean, classy, cheerful, fresh, bright, and joyful!" So that was my goal.

I presented Katie with two logo design options that played off of the idea of "Salt" and "Light". The design schemes were presented in black and white because you don't want to become distracted by color this early in the design phase. Our first goal was to nail down the core structure of the design...color would be added later!

If you follow Salt & Light Photos on Instagram or Facebook, then you know which logo she selected. I'll show you the final branding board next week along with the coordinating mood board! For more information on our branding and logo packages, check out the "branding" section of our Etsy Shop.

Final Logo Design for All Before Thirty

In the last post, I showed you the three logo options for the new blog All Before Thirty! Today, I'm sharing the final outcome! As you may have already seen on our home page and Instagram feed, Shannon selected the stylish and southern logo featuring two coffee mugs.

    All Before Thirty blog logo

Below you can see the mood board that directed and inspired the "look" of All Before Thirty. Mood boards are very helpful when it comes to making sure the client and designer are on the same page! Shannon created a Pinterest board with images and photos that depicted her idea of what All Before Thirty would eventually look like. Using her pins and a few that I added, we were able to create a physical mood board that guided us in the logo process. Shannon can continue to use the board as inspiration when selecting images for her blog and social media. The feminine colors, bold graphics, and classy imagery of the board create a unified look that will be carried into every outlet of All Before Thirty.

Next to the mood board, is the complete brand design for All Before Thirty. We love how it came out! It is very feminine and yet still bold. It is welcoming and approachable, and yet it is still classy and exciting. Follow All Before Thirty for updates on the launch of the new blog. Based on the warm and welcoming personality of Shannon, it is sure to be an encouraging and enjoyable blog to read!
