Bathroom Makeover: Before and After

Bathroom Makeover: Before and After

mint theme bathroom makeover

We purchased our 1940s home a little over a year ago, and I have been promising updated pictures every since then! Finally I'm getting some before and after pics up on the blog!

One of the first rooms I decided to tackle was the bathroom! I think the small size of the bathroom made it seem quick and easy. However, when you're painting white over dark green walls...it takes SEVERAL coats of paint. :) I knew I wanted it to have a bright, clean feeling, so I decided to go with a white and mint color theme. View the specific product details below.

Now time to show you the drastic before and after photos!! You can see below that the original space was VERY dark and therefore felt even smaller than it is! We didn't change any of the fixtures, but simply painting and adding new decor immediately made the space feel larger and more cheerful!

Before and After Bathroom Makeover

I was a little nervous about painting the bead board, trim, and door the mint color, but now that is my favorite part! AND it was very important that I tested paint colors on the wall before deciding the final paint color! My first three mint choices were way too dark. The final color (Fleeting Green by SW) looked too light on the paint swatch, but when I got it on the wall I knew it was just the right hint of green! I think it gives it that unexpected cottage charm that makes people feel warm and cozy!

Have you tried a fun paint makeover lately? Tell me about it and what paint colors you used!

Have a great day!
