Romantic Charm For February!
February is one of my favorite months in Charleston—it's not often that a city claims February as one of its best months! The weather has that perfect balance of warmth without being too hot. Sunny days, cool mornings, and early signs of spring. Fewer crowds downtown make it the ideal time for a romantic getaway or a cozy date night.
To capture the romantic charm of February in Charleston, I’ve chosen a front door from our collection that truly embodies the essence of the month: the Arched Black Door. Arched doorways have a romantic allure, and while they can be a bit more challenging to replicate, there's plenty we can learn from this one to add romance and charm to our own entryways!
The drama starts with the color scheme. Charleston isn’t afraid to have fun with color, and this soft earthy pink paired with a glossy black door instantly draws the eye. Inspired by Sherwin Williams’ Historic Colors of Charleston palette, we think DCR032 State Street Pink paired with DCR099 Historic Charleston Green creates a stunning combination!
On either side of the door, grand planters overflowing with boxwoods and blooming flowers stand proudly, while ornate lanterns—bold, yet elegant—serve as statement pieces, echoing Charleston’s gilded past. Everything comes together with a charming French blue house number sign (very classic in Charleston) and a brass mail slot.
