The Importance of Keeping It Personal

If you know me, you know I absolutely love handwritten notes… birthday wishes, thank-you’s, thinking-of-you’s, and “keeping you in my prayers” messages. In today’s fast and increasingly digital world, a handwritten note stands out. It shows effort, thoughtfulness, and love in a way no text or DM ever could.

A handwritten note is taking your love and putting it through pen to paper and that is something worth doing and preserving in our world.

The Charm of Personalized Stationery

Beautiful, personalized stationery can be both motivating and meaningful. It reflects your personal style, makes a perfect gift for kids or graduates, and can even become a timeless keepsake.

There’s something special about handwriting, whether it’s yours or someone you care about, it can stir up memories and emotions in a way few things can.

A Little History

Did you know personalized stationery goes back thousands of years? Ancient Egyptians wrote on papyrus, while the Greeks and Romans used monogrammed parchment to showcase authority and authenticity. In the Victorian era, stationery became a status symbol, full of elegant embellishment and flair.

Here in the South, handwritten notes are more than just good manners, they're a cherished tradition that reflects hospitality and gratitude. Personalized stationery adds an extra layer of charm and warmth to this beautiful custom.

Keeping the Tradition Alive

Even in our modern world, handwritten notes (and especially thank you notes) remain a valuable way to express thoughtfulness and gratitude. Teaching kids how to write notes not only passes down tradition, but also builds emotional intelligence and kindness.

To help, here are some quick and easy tips to make thank-you note writing fun for kids!

💌 Top Tips for Helping Kids Write Great Thank-You Notes

1. Use a Simple Structure

Help them follow a basic format:

  • Dear Aunt Katie,

  • Thank you for my (insert gift here).

  • I’m excited to use it for (something specific).

  • Love, (their name)

2. Make It Creative

Encourage them to doodle, decorate with stickers, or add their own flair. The more fun it feels, the more engaged they’ll be.

3. Provide the Right Tools

Having their own personalized stationery can be a big motivator! If they're excited about using their own cards, they’re more likely to want to write.

4. Model the Behavior

Write notes together as a family activity. When they see you doing it, they’ll want to join in.

5. Celebrate Their Effort

Thank you notes take time and practice but it’s always the thought that counts! Make a big deal out of their effort to encourage the habit.

I’m so proud of the new Personalized Stationery collection and truly hope it inspires you (or your little ones!) to send more love, kindness, and gratitude out into the world, one note at a time!

XOXO,
Emily
